Music Festival is held at Sarawak Cuin Village, Santubong, Kuehing. With the magnificent Mount Santubong as a backdrop, the music festival is one of the state’s most popular and renowned eve that never fails to impress thousands ol enthusiastic fans. Top musicians from around the world gather here for three days straight, giving guests exciting performances. With unusual instruments, hypnotic beats and delirious rh3thms ser by musicians with different cultural influences, it is easy to get lost in the intoxicating tunes.
This year. the spectacular shows w graced by Ross Daly Quartet (Greece Kasai Masai (Congo/UK), Hiroshi Motofuji, (Japan). Oikyataan (India), Cholo Valderanima (Colombia), New Rope String Band (UK), Yakande (Gambia/Guinea), Add Salameh (Palestine), Fadomorse (Portugal), Anak Jati Orchestra, Sarawak Cultural Village. Kani’d of Sarawalc, and Pinikpikan (Philippines). In the afternoon, guests participated in various workshops related to sound and harmony. At night, everyone who stayed on for the musical presentations got treated to other creative expressions in the form of workshops, ethno-musical lectures and jam sessions.
The Rainforest World Music Festival was held from July 11 to 13 this year and was one of the components of events held in conjunction with the “Visit Malaysia Year’ campaign. The festival’s exotic sounds and tunes thrilled fans and awed those who were new to this Itind of music. For this annual event, it is best to secure tickets as early as possible.
